Adisadel College school authority has taken decisive action in response to a troubling incident captured in a viral video, where a senior student violently assaulted a junior in one of the dormitories.
The school has officially announced the immediate dismissal of the culprit involved, who happens to be a final year student.
It was clarified in a statement shared on the School’s social media account that, the student will only be allowed to sit for his final exams under the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

This dismissal is pending the final decision of both the school’s Board of Governors and the Ghana Education Service, who are reviewing the matter thoroughly.
Despite the video only recently surfacing, the incident actually happened on June 30, 2023, in Quaque House.
In the viral video, the senior student is
seen holding the victim from behind and forcibly
pushing his face onto one of the bunk beds.
The impact results in immediate swelling of the affected area, while other students witnessing the incident stand by.
As a consequence of their involvement, the student responsible for recording the incident, along with other witnesses who failed to report it, will face varying degrees of sanctions.

The house master and his deputy will also be held accountable for their roles in the matter.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has also intervened, issuing a statement that led to the initial suspension of the responsible student.
Moreover, the GES has requested that the police be involved in the investigation due to the nature of the assault.
In taking these actions, Adisadel College aims to ensure the safety and well-being of all its students and sends a clear message that such acts of violence will not be tolerated within the school community.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all students.
FULL STATEMENT: UPDATE AND INTERIM ACTION ON THE ASSAULT INCIDENT ON ADISADEL CAMPUS

The incident happened on the 30th of June, 2023 in Quaque house
1. The culprit will be outrightly dismissed and will have to write his exams at WAEC
2. The victim will also be suspended and will write his exams with parental escort.
3. The one who recorded the video will also be
suspended externally for one week and also face internal suspension for another week.
4. The other students who were at the scene but did not intervene and also failed to report the incident will also face severe internal punishment.
5. The housemaster and his deputy will also be
suspended immediately pending the outcome of the findings by GES.
