Ghanaian professional footballer Felix Afena-Gyan has sparked a massive stir after Shatta Wale’s smash hit song “On God” was played loudly in front of 70,000 spectators at AS Roma stadium.
This happened when the 19-year-old football player was being announced to enter the stadium at the AS Roma’s 2022–23 season team presentation before their friendly match against Shakhtar Donetsk at the stadio olimpico stadium in Italy.
The Black Stars forward, Afena-Gyan, won his first major title with his team, AS Roma, when they won the UEFA Europa Conference League, making him the first and youngest Ghanaian player to win a European title at the age of 19.
However, the video of Afena Gyan entering the stadium when the song was playing has received a lot of reaction from Ghanaians heaping praises on the black-stars forward.
He was seen by the AS Roma supporters cheering him on as he excitedly walked onto the pitch while singing the song politely and gesture-singing to join his team mates at the presentation.
Undoubtedly , Afena Gyan has proven his affection for Shatta Wale and is promoting Ghanaian music to gain it global identity and wider market.
