The 2022 World Cup starts today, and a slew of netizens have reacted to Davido’s absence from the opening ceremony in Qatar.
BTS’s K-pop superstar, Jeon Jungkook, and Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi took the stage to entertain the stadium’s thousands of spectators.
However, based on the colorful opening ceremony, which has been dubbed the best since the World Cup’s beginning, many have determined that Davido’s presence on such a large platform would have been a historic moment.
Davido trending on Twitter was scheduled to perform the official World Cup song ‘Hayya Hayya ‘ (Better Together) with American singer Trinidad Cardona and Japanese singer Aisha.
The ‘Champion Sound’ hitmaker, who is claimed to be in a destabilized state since the death of his son, Ifeanyi, has canceled all of his concerts.
The singer is yet to speak or make a public appearance following the death of his 3-year-old son.
