Hearts of Oak legend Don Bortey has apologized for joining Kotoka players in celebrating their premier league victory on June 12, 2022.

Hearts legend Don Bortey joins Kotoko in league celebration at baba yara stadium

The result of the legend receiving heavy backlash from fans for dining with rivals Kotoko on the same day that the phobians were humiliated by the Great Olympics in the Ga Mantse derby match.

Don Bortey in an interview on HitzFM, stated that the reason he raised the Kotoko flag with its legends was because he was almost ready to join the team.

Later on, he emphasized that he was merely a guest and not a member of the Porcupine Warriors’ family.

However, the winger has now expressed his regret to Hearts of Oak supporters for his behavior on the field that day, after Kotoko won the championship by defeating Elmina Sharks 3-0 at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
