Shatta Wale’s announcement as Artist of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards UK has sparked frustration among sections of Ghanaians.
Many can not fathom how he managed to win this coveted award while competing against Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Black Sherif.

People are voicing their displeasure not only with the choice of Shatta Wale’s, but also with the criteria used by the organisers to bestow him with this honour.
Some congratulated Shatta while some speculates that the award was just handed to the singer out of sympathy by the event organisers and do not think he deserved to win in that category.

After his award victory, Shatta Wale had already captured attention with his grand entrance at the show, descending from the heavens in a customized cage.
He put on a spectacular performance that drew a massive audience, marking his return to the show after an absence of over six years.
