AS Roma and the Black Stars, forward Felix Afena-Gyan arrived in Ghana Friday night and presented his mother with his UEFA Conference League winning medal.
Felix Afena-Gyan recently involved in altercation with his team mate Mancini when the 26-year-old angrily went in for the striker while the team were celebrating their UEFA Conference League triumph.
After his impressive performance with his club As Roma to the ultimate in the final despite lack of playing opportunities, Afena Gyan becomes the first Ghanaian player to win the maiden edition of UEFA Conference League at the age of 19.
After an outstanding season, the Ghanaian young footballer secured a professional contract and was granted a spot in the senior squad. Last October, he made his professional debut in a Serie A match against Cagliari.
He made his international debut in March, helping Ghana beat Nigeria to World Cup qualification, and now the teenager is set to finish off an extraordinary first season by winning European gold in Qatar.
He played 45 minutes in Roma’s Conference League campaign.
