Lilwayne has said that he is better than Jay Z regardless of his rap music pedigree after being named the Best Rapper of All Time by Billboard.

This comes just a few weeks after Billboard and Vibes teamed up to name Jay-Z the Greatest rapper of all-time on their top 50 list.

Many great legends were ranked ahead of the “I’m on one” rapper, including Tupac, Nas, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and The Notorious B.I.G respectively.

Lil Wayne’s seventh place on the list sparked a lot of reactions on social media, particularly on Twitter, dragging fans into a heated debate on the GOAT debate after recently dropping his “Kant Nobody” featuring DMX.

Netizens expressed concern and questioned Jay Z’s current form and appearance at the top of the list, claiming that Lil Wayne, Tupac, and Eminem should have topped the list before the “young forever” hitmaker.

However, in response to Billboard’s list, which named Jay-Z the Greatest Rapper of All Time, Lil Wayne claimed that he should be number one spot.

During an interview on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music podcast, Lil Wayne questioned Billboard’s list, claiming that every rapper on the list, including Jay Z, is aware of his superiority.

Man, who the hell is before me?”…Was the list including ALL Hip Hop, like before and after as well? I can deal with that… I will tell you that I am a motherf***ing one…..”Everybody whose names you named, they also know I’m number one. Go ask ’em. They know what it is.”

The last tour I got off was with Blink-182…”At the end of the day, I find myself at the country music awards and doing tours with Blink-182. There’s not a lot of rappers in this position who can say they’ve done that. I stand alone on that mountain.” – Lil Wayne said.
