Isaac Dogboe Defeats Christopher Diaz For Featherweight Title By Majority Decision

Ghana’s boxer Isaac Dogboe was given a boost in his quest for a chance at the featherweight title after edging out Puerto Rican boxer Christopher Diaz in a contest in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The fight occurred on the undercard of Terrence Crowford vs. Shawn Porter, and it was a nail-biter.

Both Dogboe and Diaz did not hesitate to attack each other, hoping to gain the upper hand and end the fight.

The battle remained close for the most of the fight, with the boxers battling it out in each of the 10 rounds allotted.

In the end, it was Dogboe who emerged victorious on the cards.

Tim Cheatham and Don Trekla rated the fight 96-94 and 97-93 for Dogboe, respectively, while Eric Cheek scored it 95-95 for Dogboe.

Dogboe won his third fight in a row after losing to Emmanuel Navarrete in a bid to reclaim his Super Bantamweight title.

Isaac Zion Dogboe “The Royal Storm” is a Ghanaian-British professional boxer born and raised in Accra. He held the WBO junior-featherweight title in 2018.
