Kisner was born on February 15, 1984 in Aiken, South Carolina. Kevin’s passion for golf began at an early age, and he honed his skills while attending South Aiken High School. He went on to excel in golf while attending the University of Georgia, where he was a part of the 2005 NCAA Division I Championship team along with Chris Kirk, Richard Scott, and Brendon Todd.

Kisner turned professional after graduating in 2006 and began playing on the Mini Tours, winning three times between 2007 and 2009. He also competed in his six National Tour events in 2009 before going full-time on the National Tour in 2010, winning Mylan Classic and and finishing 11th on the money list, earning him a PGA Tour card for 2011. After a poor 2011 season and a card loss, Kisner persevered and finished T-11 at a qualifying school to earn his 2012 card. He failed to hold the card again and returned to Web.com tour in 2013 with great success after missing the card in qualifying school. Kisner won the Chile Classic in March at the Web.com Tour in 2013, placing him 13th on regular-season money list and qualifying for PGA Tour in 2014.

Kisner had several notable finishes in 2014, including his 6th-place finish at Wells Fargo Championship, an 8th-place finish at the Wyndham Championship, and 9th-place finish at the RBC Canadian Open. Kisner, meanwhile, really started to make his mark 2015 PGA Tour season. He finished second three times, but lost all in sudden death playoffs. Despite these near misses, Kisner didn’t give up and kept working hard.

Finally, on November 22, 2015, Kisner won his RSM Classic, his first win on the PGA Tour. He defeated Kevin Chapell by six strokes and dominated the tournament over the weekend. The win put him in the top 20 of the world rankings and moved him to the top of rankings in the early 2016 FedEx Cup. Kisner’s success on the PGA Tour didn’t stop there. He won PGA Tour title for the second time at his Invitational at Dean & Deluca in May 2017, defeating his three other players in one stroke. In 2018, he finished runner-up in the WGC-Dell Technologies match play, losing to Bubba Watson in the final, and finished second at the 2018 Open Championship with a score of 6-under par.

Kisner reached the championship round of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play again in March 2019, this time with a 3&2 victory over compatriot Matt Kuchar to win the tournament. Kisner’s most recent win was at Wyndham in August 2021 when he scored a birdie on second extra hole and won the playoffs with six sudden deaths.
