Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with English football giants Manchester United has been terminated, the club announced on Tuesday.
This comes after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan dominated social media news headlines in the weeks leading up to the World Cup.
During an interview with Piers Morgan, the Portuguese star stated that coach Erik Tang has treated him disrespectfully.

The 37-year-old, undoubtedly one of thr greatest footballer of all time, saw his relationship with Manchester United’s board deteriorate after he appeared to criticize the club’s management.
Ronaldo was also constantly agitated by the fact that his role had been reduced to the bench, and he took it out on manager Erik Ten Hag, whom he felt had disrespected him by leaving him on the bench.

His sour relationship with Erik Tan was worsened when he was granted an interview on Piers Morgan in which he stated that he does not respect Erik because the coach has not respected him since his arrival at the team.
This has sparked widespread speculation that Manchester United will certainly cancel Ronado’s contract in order to end his second spell at Old Trafford, claiming feelings of disrespect.

However, on Tuesday, November 21, Manchester United issued an official statement announcing the five-time Ballon D’or winner’s mutual exit from the club with an immediate effect.
The statement reads in parts :
“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford.”
