Williams has 24 receptions for 461 yards and four touchdowns in just 10 games as a freshman at Syracuse in 2006.

In 2007, he was named to the all-Big East second team after finishing the season with 60 receptions for 837 yards and ten touchdowns in 12 games. However, due to academic reasons, Williams was suspended for the whole 2008 season in June 2008.

Despite this setback, he returned in 2009, but his path took a different course when he departed the squad following a car accident in which colleagues were involved.
