Mother of Adisadel College Student Who Was Physically Attacked Speaks
In an emotional statement, Ms. Margaret Annor Afari, the mother of the Adisadel College student who endured bullying, had spoken up about the distressing incident that left her horrified.
She disclosed that she only became aware of the incident four weeks after it occurred when a viral video emerged showing her son being violently attacked by another student in a dormitory on June 30, 2023.
The video, which quickly spread across the country, has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions.

She made a heartfelt appeal to the school authorities to reconsider their decision and allow her son who has been sent home, to return and take his who has been sent home, to return and take his final exams.
“I don’t want to see the video. I have heard it being described but I have not seen it and I don’t want to see it. It was the elder brother who saw it yesterday and called the housemaster who later called me to explain the incident,” she said amidst tears.
On the other hand, the victim of the attack himself confirmed that the altercation arose from a dispute over a sim card.

“He had my sim card and I asked for it back but he refused and that is what started the fight,” he stated
He recounted that he had requested his sim card back from the other student, but the request was refused, leading to the unfortunate confrontation.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) strongly condemned the barbaric act committed by the culprit and expressed appreciation to the school authorities for taking prompt action in suspending the perpetrator pending further investigation.
In addition to the student’s suspension, the housemaster in charge of the students was also suspended in connection with the incident.
