One of Bishop Daniel Obinim’s junior pastors allegedly lost GHS600,000 that he took from the company’s coffers to stake a bet.
Sport betting and lotto staking have become the most dominant and popular activities, draining most young men and women financially who are addicted to them.
One could argue that others make a lot of money from it, but the likelihood of losing your money is very high.
However, Bishop Obinim made this disclosure while preaching to his congregation, as he was seen in a video praying for one of his church members who was in debt due to a sports bet.
According to Bishop Obinim, his Junior pastor who worked for the company was confident enough that he would win the bet because the odds were favourable.
He did, however, bring the company’s money worth Gh600 million [old Ghana Cedis] to the bet. He intended to return the initial amount and keep the dividends if he won.
But luck was not on his side, and he lost the bet. Bishop Obinim mentioned that the company was looking for the young man for their money.
