Ghana head coach Otto Addo has tipped Germany to win the Qatar 2022 World Cup ahead of his team, Black Stars.
Black Stars of Ghana is currently in a terrible spot after losing 3-2 to Portugal in their opening match of the Qatar World Cup on Thursday, November 24.
Japan shocked Germany in their first game of the tournament, losing 2-1 after grabbing a first-half lead on Wednesday at Khalifa International Stadium.
The Germans tied 1-1 with Spain in their second Group E encounter on Sunday evening at Al Bayt Stadium, earning them only one point in the competition.
Hansi Flick’s side currently sits bottom of their group with one points, Spain have four points topping the table whiles Japan and Costa Rica are on second and third position and have three points respectively.
However, at the post-match press conference, Hamburg-born, Otto Addo admitted that the chances are stacked against Germany, but he is rooting for his country of birth to win the Qatar World Cup.
“To win the World Cup? Phew…Normally I’ll like to go with Germany, but the odds are not really in their favour at the moment,” — Otto Addo said at a press conference.
Otto Addo’s Black Stars will also be seeking redemption when they take on South Korea in their second group game Today Monday 28 November after also losing their opening game against Portugal.
In other news, Otto Addo, has Apologized for criticizing referee Ismail Elfath after the match between Ghana and Portugal.
This comes after the Ghana Black Stars were defeated by Portugal (3-2) on Thursday after Ronaldo’s controversial penalty became the talk of the town and sparked massive reactions on social media.
