Coach Otto Addo has reunited with his wife and kids in Germany after Ghana’s early exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The 47-year-old failed to lead the Black Stars past the group stage after losing their final group game to Uruguay on Friday.

After the game, coach Addo indicated that he would be leaving his role as Ghana coach at the end of his contract, stating clearly that Dortmund released him for only six months and that he needed to settle with his family in Germany.

Ghana placed fourth in Group H with three points after losing to Portugal and Uruguay, but a win over South Korea in between.

Coach Otto Addo’s departure means Ghana act move quickly to get a new coach in place before they continue their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in March.

The Hamburg-born Coach initially joined the Black Stars as an interim coach in February, replacing Milovan Rajevac, and was confirmed as the team’s official coach by GFA in May of this year.

Addo won four games during his time with the team, including competitive victories over Madagascar and South Korea, as well as friendlies against Nicaragua and Switzerland.

He led Ghana to World Cup qualification by defeating Nigeria in March, and he also became the only Ghanaian coach to win a World Cup match against South Korea at the Qatar World Cup since Ghana’s debut in 2006.
