Ghanaian musician Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie reacts to commercial drivers (Trotro Drivers) who has turned their lorry stations into football parks by leaving passengers to begin their strike over high fuel prices.
The rapper took his social media handle to share his opinion with the ongoing drivers’ strike that has left passengers stranded in Accra December 6, 2021
According to commercial drivers, they are pleading with the government to find a better solution to the rising fuel prices that is harming their livelihoods, but the government has turned a blind eye to their plight.
one of their leading men on Joy News, Abbas Imoro, revealed how they’ve applied humble measures for the government to help solve the problem, but they’ve been waiting.
“We don’t expect prices to drop any time soon.”
“We expect prices to rise as demand rises in Europe, Asia, and possibly Africa so they are calling government to eliminate levies such as the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy, Special Petroleum Tax, Energy Recovery Debt Levy, and Sanitation Levy” — he said
