Shatta Wale who was suggesting that, if music makers and stakeholders can come together to brainstorm on a particular genre that could be identified as Ghanaians following his address on June 3,2021 has showered praises on Nigerian Artiste for making an Afrobeat a leading genre in Africa and beyond.

My Level hit maker explained in his state of the nation address that, even though he is a dancehall Artiste it’s will be good if Ghanaians Artistes will go back to their Highlife roots , polish it and make it more appealing to international or global market because having a unique genre will give the country an identity and the long awaited international attention it deserves.

Speaking on the matter, The African Dancehall king took his social media handle to credit and show gratitude to colleague artistes from Nigeria for giving Afrobeats a global appeal/recognition.

“Thanks to nigeria artistes now we are all Afrobeats….since Ghana doesn’t have an identity we moveeeee!!!! At least if just to secure the bag i don’t mind” Shattawale said

Initially Shatta Wale made his appearance at the New York timesquare Billboard with spotify Africa playlist ‘Faces of Afrobeats’ curated by Prime Music Partner to celebrate African artistes.
