Black Sherif has made a significant move on the Billboard World Albums Chart since making his official debut with his debut album, ‘The Villian I Never Was.’ 

Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, professionally known as Black Sherif, is a nominee for the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards and the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards. 

On Thursday, October 6, 2022, the young award-winning recording and performing artiste served fans and music lovers with his 14-track studio album titled, ‘The Villian I Never Was,’ which included a feature from African Giant, Burna Boy.

His Soja song off the album made it debut on US Afrobeats Billboard at No. 23 position while in the competition of his buddy and record label mate Burna Boy and Asake on the digital music record chart.

Black Sherif became a household name for music fans all over the world when he released hit songs from the villain I Never Was album, including Second Sermon Remix, Kwaku The Traveller, Oh Paradise, Soja, and others. 

On October 24, 2022, his 45-song music video received over 3 million views on YouTube within ten days of its release.

Sad Boys, Wasteman, Toxic Love, and Don’t Forget Me are among the 14 solid tracks on his debut album, which has received over 200K views on the music streaming platform, YouTube..

However, ‘The Villian I Never Was’ album on Monday, October 24, 2022, peaked at number 12 on Billboard World Albums Chart sandwiched by Wizkid’s; ‘Made In Lagos’ album at number 11 and BTS’s ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ album at number 13.

In other news, Soja by Black Sherif appeared on the Billboard Afrobeats Charts in the United States just a few days after its release. 

Following its buzz, the song made its way onto Billboard’s musical charts, capturing the public’s attention due to its contextual lyrics and numbers that were pulled on all digital music outlets. 

The Soja song caused quite a stir on YouTube, receiving over 1 million views in just three days after its release. 

However, in making it entry on Billboard Chart, the ‘Soja,’ song debuted on Apple Music Top 100 Charts within 24 hours of its release and is currently peaking at No.1 on the Music Charts, has risen to 23rd on the Billboard Afrobeats chart, sandwiched between Nigerian Burna Boy’s Ye and Asake’s Ototo.
