Who is Wendy Shay?
Wendy Shay, born Wendy Asiamah Addo in Accra, Ghana on February 20, 1996, is a professional Ghanaian singer.
She was born and raised with her three other siblings by her Ghanaian parents. Wendy relocated to Germany at age 3, and a year later, she lost her father that her lofts for music blossomed.
Wendy Shay travelled to Ghana to pursue her musical career despite being a trained nurse and working as a Midwife in a clinical field in Stuttgart, Germany.
In 2018 Wendy was introduced to RuffTown Records manager Bullet following the untimely passing of labelmate Ebony.
She released her debut smash hit song titled ‘Uber driver’ same year and subsequent years under the label catapulting her musical career to become a global star today.
Wendy Shay Accident: What Happened To Wendy Shay?
Video footage shared by United Television (UTV) revealed Wendy’s Jeep Wrangler vehicle with the registration number plate “SHAY 21-19” in a severely damaged condition.
According to an eyewitness, efforts were underway to transport the Ruff Town Records signee to a nearby health facility for medical attention as she had complained of a severe headache following the incident.
In a live account of the incident, Deputy News Editor of UTV, Prince Obimpeh, who chanced upon the scene, also provided a narration of Wendy Shay’s accident.
“You must be familiar with the clear path between the ACP Junction and Kwabenya at night.” Despite the police presence, cars often drive by at full speed.
“As I came from the valley, not far from the KNUST Accra Campus Junction, I noticed a crowd gathered around a car,” he explained.
He further added he made the decision to park and investigate the matter.
“I noticed a woman with dreadlocks who resembled Wendy Shay stepping out of a vehicle.” As I got closer, I realised it was Wendy Shay. “Her Wrangler had a customised number plate with her name,” he continued.
The reporter added that he approached Wendy and asked a few questions, but she appeared restless and complained of terrible headaches after hitting her head on the dashboard.
