Nigerian celebrated artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has become the most awarded African act in history after scooping the “Best International Act” and “Best African Act” awards at just ended 2021 MOBO Awards which was held at Coventry Arena on December 5
The “Essence” hitmaker was in a tight competition as he beats the likes of Doja Cat, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, Rema, Skillibeng, and Young Stoner Life, Doja Cat, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, Rema, Skillibeng, and Young Stoner Life to clinch the highly coveted “Best International Act” category award.
Big Wiz as he’s affectionately called, didn’t stopped there, he went further to beat the likes of Davido, Burna Boy, CKay, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Tems, NSG, King Promise, and Ayra Starr to the “Best African Music Act” Award making him the first ever to win a double in those respective categories.
Wizkid has now amassed a total of five MOBO Awards in his career making him the most African artist in the history of the awards.
