A Ghanaian man has made shocking revelations about the policewoman at the center of a viral video controversy, claiming she paid GHS10,000 to the Cyber Security Unit in an attempt to have the footage removed from social media platforms.
The anonymous source, speaking in an interview shared by Ask Media on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 on Twitter (X), alleged that the officer who is married to a fellow police officer was the victim of an accidental leak that spiraled into a public scandal.
According to the informant, the incident occurred in 2024 when the married policewoman inadvertently shared an intimate video in a police WhatsApp group.
The footage was reportedly intended for her husband, who was on a two-year overseas assignment at the time.
“She was sending the video to her husband, who was on a mission abroad, but it mistakenly ended up in a police WhatsApp group,” the man explained during the interview.
The leak was compounded when an unidentified police colleague, who was also a member of the WhatsApp group, swiftly downloaded the video and redistributed it across various social media platforms.
The source emphasized that the officer had no intention of making the footage public and was devastated by the unintended exposure.
In a dramatic twist to the unfolding saga, the anonymous source claimed that the policewoman approached the Cyber Security Unit with a substantial offer to have the video taken down from the internet.
“The Cyber Security Unit was offered GHS10,000 to delete the video from all social media platforms, but it still found its way onto the public domain,” he alleged.

He dismissed allegations that the policewoman had placed a gun in her intimate area, a claim that has been widely speculated on social media.
