Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has come under fire from some of his fans after being accused of publicly promoting sexually explicit content on his social media page.
The accusation comes after Stonebwoy used his verified Snapchat account, which has over 1.2 million followers, to post a video of two young couples lying close together on a bed, cuddling in a relaxed and intimate moment.
In the video, the woman is seen resting on a pillow while the man leans in close, gently touching and kissing their face and neck.
However, the same video Stonebwoy shared on his Snapchat account has sparked controversy online, with many people taking the singer out of context and criticizing him for his actions.
In the background of the footage, Stonbwoy could be heard happily singing one of his songs that was synchronized with the content.
The bedroom video, which already had an overlaid text at the top, was captioned with an inscription ‘Inspirational love’ by Stonebwoy.
Although he did not intend to promote anything bad, but rather to celebrate love and the power of couple goals.
The film, which was initially uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) by a tweep who goes by the username “DAHBOSS,” has received over 1.2 million views in the hours since it was released.
The post was quoted by a number of people, including YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon who was astounded by the content.
Some expressed their disgust and urged Stonebwoy to use his brand for good because of his popularity and the sizable fan base he had built.
Stonebwoy’s fans defended the fact that, contrary to popular belief, it was merely a gesture by their idol to mock single people.
