Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, a Ghanaian student and influencer, has broken his silence a few days after his arrest rumors for allegedly publishing obscene materials on Snapchat.
In a self-recorded video that is currently circulating on the internet, Hayford denied being detained by the Ghana Police Service’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
According to him, he was just invited to the headquarters for an interrogation and wasn’t taken into custody by officials, as several media outlets had earlier reported.
He alleges that he was called to the station to assist them with their investigations, but his mobile phone device was taken away.
“First of all, let me clear something, I’ve not been arrested, I’m fine and I’m well. The Ghana Police are doing their investigations, salute to them. They just took away my phone to aid in their investigation” — he said.
The 23-year-old student went on to dispute the arrest report, stating it was completely false.
“Nobody has been arrested, nobody has done anything. Please do not believe the misinformation on the internet, I’m begging you please I just want them to enjoy themselves that’s why I’ve not responded, I’m home right now as you can see”.
Hayford‘s current remark comes after allegations surfaced that he was apprehended for reportedly selling filthy videos he privately recorded with women for $600.
No formal charges have been filed against Hayford, and no accuser has been identified or made public by the Ghana Police since the investigation began.
