Kanye West, a renowned American musician has sparked controversy online after making a crude statement about Kamala Harris on Twitter, ‘now known as X’. In a now-viral Twitter post on Sunday, February 2, 2015, West claimed to have wanted an affair with Kamala but changed his mind after the Democrat lost the 2024 election to Donald Trump.
Kanye’s relationship with Kamala has been superb over the years, with the ‘Heartless’ singer consistently demonstrating his support for the Democratic Party’s vice president.
He was among the celebrities that supported and endorsed Harris for president after Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race.
Ye’s feelings for Kamala began in 2020, when she was named Joe Biden’s running mate for the presidential race, causing him to send an emotional message to the California-born politician.
In a surprising turn of events, Kanye West trod on Kamari Harris’ toes by using the F word in a tweet that has received a lot of attention online.
Sharing his sexual interest in Kamala Harris, Ye claimed to have had intercourse with the former Vice President.
“I used to want to f** Kamala until she lost. I don’t f*** losers anymore.” – he stated on Twitter.
The post immediately sparked backlash on social media, with many calling out the rapper for his disrespectful and misogynistic remarks.
Critics pointed out that Kamala Harris, who served as the 46th Vice President of the United States, has not “lost” in the traditional political sense, questioning the basis of Kanye’s comment.
Fans and political commentators have also weighed in on the situation, with some defending Kanye’s right to free speech while others condemned the statement as unnecessary and offensive.
This isn’t the first time Kanye West has made headlines for his controversial takes on politics.
Over the years, he has voiced support for Donald Trump, launched his own failed presidential campaign in 2020, and frequently made inflammatory remarks about various public figures.
The rationale behind Ye’s statement is unclear, although he may feel abandoned and snubbed by Kamala for not selecting him as one of the campaign staff members despite his support.
Kamala Harris however has not responded to the comment, and Kanye himself has not offered any clarification regarding his statement.
