“You are very beautiful. When you grow up, I will marry you. She’s my wife. In future, she will also be an MP.”

The statement, captured on video, has since gone viral, with many social media users questioning whether the comment was appropriate given the setting and the age of the child involved.

The MP was at the school to engage with students and encourage them to take their studies seriously while supporting development initiatives in the Ahafo Ano South East Constituency.

He also urged the pupils to appreciate ongoing projects in the area and encouraged them not to be influenced by what he described as negative political narratives from the opposition.
