Pop Skinny has made the headlines once again with a surprising revelation about his former close friend Shatta Wale.
Pop Skinny who was once the right hand of Shatta Wale claims the dancehall star refused to pick him up at the airport upon his arrival after he had reached out to the dancehall star upon his returning to Ghana.
He emphasizes how he and Shatta Wale remain on good terms but putting their past public disappointment behind despite missing the gesture.
“I sent him a message that he should come and pick me up at the airport, but he didn’t come. I even told some of his people. It would have been beautiful for him to do that, but he knows where I am, so I believe he will surprise me with a visit, Pope Skinny shares in an interview on Adom FM as quoted by daily guide networks.
Pop Skinny explains that despite his conflicts with Shatta Wale in the past, their bong remains strong demonstrating their long-standing friendship.
“We had a misunderstanding and couldn’t solve it indoors, so we brought it out to the public. But now, we are no more like that. I am too mature to have issues with Shatta Wale. He is my guy, my friend, and I do not have any problem with him,” he said.
He admits that although their disagreements had sometimes spilt into the public, they were only a fraction of the many quarrels between them.
“We have fought many times, and this is the only one that came out. He said something that pained me, but I had to let the people know it wasn’t true. But for life, I and Wale, we are for life,” he added.
Despite Shatta Wale’s airport snub, Pope Skinny emphasizes that their friendship is built to last, and he remains confident that their bond will endure beyond occasional misunderstandings.
Pop Skinny and Shatta Wale collaborated on a number of tracks during the rapper’s time as a member of Shatta Movement (SM).
Mayaa Tra, Forgetti, Adwoa, Hot Cake, Shut Up, and others are among the songs on which they collaborated, and they have even performed on the same platform at events.
