Ghana held to a 1-1 draw by Niger, extending their winless streak in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers on Monday at the Stade Municipal De Berkane
The Black Stars took the lead late in the first half, with Alidou Seidu scoring a powerful goal in the 44th minute.
Despite holding the advantage at halftime, Ghana struggled in the second half as Niger ramped up the pressure.
Niger eventually found the equalizer in the 81st minute through O. Sako.
Following the equalizer, Ghana pushed forward but faced a well-organized Niger defense that held strong to secure a point from the game.
This result leaves Otto Addo’s side with a difficult path in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
After two matches, the Black Stars are yet to win a match at AFCON, having suffered a surprise defeat to Angola in their first match and now settling for a draw against Niger.
With just one point from two games, Ghana currently sits in third place in Group F.
The Black Stars will face Sudan in their next qualifier on October 7, 2024, as they look to improve their chances of qualifying for the tournament in Morocco.
