A video has emerged online depicting Twene Jonas explaining how he funded his journey from Ghana, West Africa, to the United States to start a new life.
In the footage, Twene Jonas confesses that before leaving Ghana for the United States, he took MTN “Qwickloan,” a popular mobile lending service, and now claims he has no intention of repaying it.
The controversial Ghanaian social media influencer, known for his outspoken views on the country’s leadership and socioeconomic issues, admits that it was hardship that drove him out of the country.
He explains that while he was ready to leave Ghana for what he saw as a “better life” in the United States, he found himself short for cash.
Twene Jonas admits to taking out a Qwickloan to cover some of his last-minute expenses.
Despite not revealing how much he borrowed from the MTN, Jonas claims he would not have found anyone to help him with such amount.
“Do you know how much I owed on credit when I left Ghana for the USA? I borrowed money from MTN through Quickloan for trip expenditures but did not pay it back. I am not ready to repay them” — Twene Jonas said in the video.
