A 19-year-old Brazilian girl named Goias who gave birth to twins without a biological father has gotten a lot of attention around the world.
Reports indicate that the DNA test results showed that one of the twins’ genetic profiles matched that of one man and the other matched that of another man.
Goas is said to be a mother for the first time following her safe delivery at the hospital bringing joy to the young woman and her family.
She did not know who exactly the fathers of her twins babies after born at the hospital prompting her to seek for paternity test after the arrival of the newly born babies.
‘I didn’t know this could happen. They are very similar’ — she said as quoted by Marca.
The unusual outcome which was conducted by Medical expert Dr. Jong Franco who describes the phenomenon as heteropaternal superfecundation which shocked Goas being explained to her by the doctors.
Jong explains that, it’s a condition in which two eggs released during the same menstrual cycle are fertilized by sperm from two separate partners.
He explains that although the condition is extremely common in animals, it is uncommon for a woman to experience it.
The doctor emphasised that despite the babies develop in different placentas, they share maternal genetic material, making this a truly rare medical case.
This story was made public right before an even more peculiar phenomenon occurred: a British woman gave birth to twins with different fathers and entirely different skin tones.

In reaction to the news report about Goas’ twins, many people were amused, accused, and called her a “serial monogamist” who is incapable of dating only one man.
