Otto Addo has spoken on why he dropped from Dede Ayew from the senior national team, the Black Stars team ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
This comes after the Havre Athletic Club winger was left out of the Otto Addo Ghana squad for matches against Mali and the Central Republic of Africa.
Otto Addo also left some talented players out of the lineup, including Inaki Williams, Majeed Ashimeru, Paintsil, Daniel Amartey, Inaki Williams due to injury, according to his press conference today.
In Dede Ayew’s case, he explained that he discussed with the Ghana’s skipper on his exclusion from the team. Otto Addo, the current coach and manager of the Black Stars, admits that he and Dede Ayew disagreed with his decision for removing him from the team, despite the fact that it was a difficult decision to make
Addo then praised Andre for his contribution to the squad over the years, adding that he does not want to discuss any player who is not on his list, but rather with those who have been called up to the team because their services are required.

“I don’t like giving out information who are not part of team, but i talk to them directly so he’s not part of the squad at the moment and Andre is a legend of Ghana and what he’s done and what did the country is unbelievable…
“And it most difficult decision to be honest because i like him as a person and also as a player and this is the decision we took and we totally agreed and I don’t want to take it to another extent, saying some things that people will write about and it difficult maybe for you” — Otto Addo said.
