Nigerian filmmaker and video director Sire Choppenson has called out Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale over unpaid money.
Sire Choppenson whose real name is Michael Kamara was seen in a recorded video asserting that Shatta Wale has refused to pay him for shooting a music video for him.
In the footage, he emphasises that he has worked on various projects with Shatta Wale for not less than thirteen music videos.
Before expressing his problems, Choppenson claims to have shot and directed Shatta Wale’s “Ayoo,” “Taking Over,” “Thunder Fire,” music videos, and his most recent release, “Killa Ji Mi.”
To shed more light on the situation, he claims to have no equipment to work with after receiving a phone call from Wale about his Tamale, Bolgatanga show last month.
He adds that Shatta claims to have sorted him out after working on the Killa Ji Mi, but it appears that after more than a month, the African dancehall king has not fulfilled his promise.
Sir Choppenson claims that, the amount he charged was less than $5,000, but Shatta Wale promised to pay $15,000 and has since refused to pay, repeatedly postponing the payment.
The irritated director highlights Shatta’s promises to buy him a car and how he was even denied access to his house while demanding his money from him.
Choppenson then criticises Shatta Wale for his treatment on him, using Nigerian A-list artistes, claiming that they would not put up such behavior because they always treat and appreciate industry producers.
Meanwhile, Sire Choppenson who is also a songwriter is known for his works particularly in the Hiplife, Gospel and contemporary Christian music. He has worked with numerous artists and has produced successful albums and projects.
