A resurfaced video of Ghanaian politician Akua Donkor expressing her wishes for her burial has stirred emotional reactions among Ghanaians.
Akua Donkor says in the video that she would like to be buried next to the late President John Evans Atta Mills, who died in 2012.
The founder and flag-bearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) made these statements eight years ago in an interview with presenter Kofi Nwanwanii.
When asked if she would want a state burial upon her death, Akua Donkor responded affirmatively, suggesting it would be a historic gesture.
“When I die, it’s something that hasn’t happened before. What I would say is, there’s an empty tomb beside Atta Mills, kindly bury me there.” — she said.

In other news, Akua Donkor’s daughter, Ama Bonsu, has accusations against media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, alleging that her mother’s death may be connected to a past incident with the host.
This stems from a 2015 interview on The Delay Show, during which Delay asked Akua Donkor if she was a witch.
Bonsu claims the family remains hurt by the comment and has yet to forgive Delay, feeling that the remark tarnished their mother’s reputation.
