Mawuli Semevo, a Ghanaian veteran actor has passed away, bringing sad news to the country and its movie industry. According to reports, he died of fire-related injuries on late Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 63.
Semevo, the Executive Director of Beyond Burns International, Judith Cato Addison, has 44% second-degree burns on his body after a fire damaged his home while he was sleeping.
He lost all of his hair due to the intense flames, as well as experiencing respiratory problems that caused him to have difficulty breathing.
Following his burns incident on February 9, the actor resorted to social media to beg for help from Ghanaians, imploring people to donate to him due to the significant amount of money required to do surgery.
This caught the attention oof many people including collegues to join hands with NGO who raised GHS20k to help him.
Following his passing, many movie professionals, fans, and sympathisers took to social media to pay their condolences to the actor and his devastated family.
His family is yet to release an official statement regarding the arrangements for his funeral, burial, and memorial service.
Meanwhile, Mawuli Semevor was born in 1962 and died in 2025, at the age of 63.
He was most recognised for his roles in various films, including Cargo, Escape to Love, and Harvest at 17, among others.
Semevo survived with his wife and children, whose personal information, including their names, ages, and careers, the actor has not publicly disclosed.
