Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats sensation Kuami Eugene has opened up about a life-changing experience that deeply impacted his personal and musical journey.
In a recent interview with Presenter Doreen Avio, Eugene shared how a simple trip to the Volta Region, renowned for its rich culture and spiritual awakening, significantly transformed his life and career.
“My entire life changed after a friend took me to the Volta Region and I returned,” he said.
He emphasises that his humble beginnings were extremely difficult and challenging because there was no help at the time.
Although Kuami Eugene did not go into detail about the incident, he claims the visit blossomed his career by allowing him to participate in the MTN hitmaker and sign with Lynx Entertainment.
“The church I was attending groomed me because when I started doing music there was no support. So I was performing at the parties and events which people usually give me transportation money.”
Kuami Eugene‘s recent comments have sparked a significant online debate, with fans suggesting the trip may have boosted his music and mindset, potentially playing a viral role.
Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene began his musical career in 2016 with the release of his debut single, “Ebeyeyie.” He got his first hit song, ‘Angelina’, at the age of 19, which marked a turning point in his career.
Since then, the artist has won a number of local and international awards, including the Telecel Ghana Music Award “TGMA Artist of the Year (AOTY).
