Fast-rising musician, Black Sherif has surpassed 100 million streams on Boomplay (Africa’s largest music streaming and download platform).

With this feat, Black Sherif joins Boomplay’s Golden Club, which includes Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Fireboy DML, Joeboy, Omah Lay, and Rayvanny, among others, who have crossed the 100 million streams mark.
“Reaching 100 million streams on Boomplay in such a short time and being the first Ghanaian artist to achieve this feat is a big deal to me. As a young kid from Konongo, who only had a dream and a voice, this brings me to the realisation that I can achieve any and everything so long as I believe and dare myself to take action. Meanwhile, Black Sherif has dismissed Blakk Rasta’s assertions that his success is due to a stroke of luck rather than hard work.
The artist stated that the time and effort he has put into his work should be recognized.
He further claimed that when he was younger, he used to listen to Blakk Rasta’s music because his father is a fan of the reggae singer.

Black Sherif, who was just named an Artist on the Rise by YouTube, said he is humbled by the love he has received since starting out as a musician three years ago.
According to the rising star, he first came to Accra from his village of Konongo through comedian Ajeezay.
Kwaku the Traveller, the song that launched Black Sherif’s international fame, has surpassed 75 million streaming in its first month. The song, which was produced by Joker Nharnah, reached number one on the Apple Music Charts in both Ghana and Nigeria.
