Dancehall musician Earlan Bartley, popularly known as Alkaline, has reignited his feud with arch rival Vybz Kartel barely a week after the ‘Gaza’ boss was released from prison.
This comes after Alkaline shades Vybz Kartel on stage during his performance at the Magnums Explosion Summer Stage “Generations” at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Trinidad last Saturday.

During his performance, the ‘Vendetta’ singer paused and address the fans that he is the new wave of talent pushing the dancehall genre forward despite having predecessors.
Alkaline’s comment suggests that he is not content with following in the footsteps of those who came before him, but rather intends to lead his peers and set new standards.
According to him, it is his turn now, and he would not let anyone overshadow him, claiming it is best if ‘someone’ recognises his efforts in the dancehall music fraternity.
“We nuh response bout who did a do it before, a we a do it now and some guy better recognize dat” said alkaline.
Many fans have perceived Alkaline’s statement as a controversial roping in Vybz Kartel, who was recently freed.
