The Ghana Police have arrested Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, following their son’s involvement in the tragic East Legon accident that claimed two lives last Saturday. The couple has taken into custody on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, after police declared Salifu Amoako a suspect in the case.
This followed the open investigation procedure that the police had announced in a statement released on Monday.
In a new development, the Ghana Police, led by IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, issued an updated statement confirming the detention of the couple, sharing photos of the incident on its social media platforms.
The police reveals that IGP Dampare had also paid a visit to the bereaved families of the two women who lost their lives in the fatal accident.
Explaining the reason for the arrest, the police states that their 16-year-old son, Erald Amoako, was responsible for the accident that resulted in the deaths of the two women.
The couple however is currently in custody, assisting the police with further investigations.
As of the time of this report, no official charges have been filed against Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako.
