Abu Trica has been freed from Nsawam prison after completing his $30 million bail term with two sureties following his arrest on December 11, 2025 by EOCO under the FBI for fraudulent activity.
The troubled Ghanaian businessman who has escaped extradition to the United States was granted bail by the Accra Circuit Court on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Abu Trica had already failed to meet the initial bail conditions, leading the court to request that his lawyers seek a variation earlier this month.
I He remained in custody for more than two weeks before his legal team filed a motion after failing to meet the financial conditions for his release.
His freedom comes after the jury approved the defence team’s new application.
Following his release, Abu Trica was captured in a high cheerful state reconciling with his family at home, signalling that his case had finally been ended.
The Swedru-born appeared wearing powder on his head while smiling with his son, signifying victory after being free of charges in a romance scam.
Despite his excitement at seeing his father again, the child in a widely circulated video could be seen crying uncontrollably that captured widespread attention.
