Barcelona are on the verge of losing £51 million summer signing Dani Olmo for free in January if they do not find a way to register him in La Liga.
Olmo’s La Liga registration issue is caused by Barcelona’s financial crisis, which could the former Leipzig star’s stay at the club.
Olmo must be included in Barcelona’s 27-man La Liga roster by December 31st; otherwise, he may become a free agent if the team fails to register him.
Rumours suggest that the Spanish giants, who are currently looking for a solution, are willing to sell Andreas Christensen in January for roughly €30 million in order to help Dani Olmo’s registration.
Some elite teams, including Inter, Juventus, and clubs in England, have expressed a strong interest in the former Chelsea defender.
Since joining Barcelona from Leipzig following Euro 2024, Dani Olmo has struggled to establish himself because Hansi Flick opted to start Marc Casado and Pedri in the midfield.
He has not played a full match since sometimes coming on as a substitute in the second half of every game this season.
With others pointing to his level of fitness as the reason, claiming he is a player who is prone to injuries, the Barcelona supporters are demanding explanations from the coach.
Olmo, meanwhile, played eight games this season, scoring six goals and one assist in all competitions.
