After returning to Le Havre following Ghana’s AFCON disappointment, Andre Dede Ayew demonstrated his talent by scoring brace for the Ligue 1 team.
Ayew, who came on as a substitute, had a huge impact on Sunday’s tough away match against Lorient, securing a (3-3) tie.
Ayew replaced Russian midfielder Daler Kuzyaev in the 70th minute and wasted no time, scoring after 15 minutes of play to level the game (2:2) in the 85th minute.

In a remarkable twist, Ayew with comeback emerged, leveling the scoresheet with a bicycle kick goal just 2 minutes later, concluding the match with both sides settling for a (3:3) draw at the final whistle.

Dede Ayew Says AFCON Is More Difficult Than WorldCup
Andre Dede Ayew, Black Stars captain, asserted that the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament is extremely difficult to compete in.
According to him, winning the FIFA World Cup is very hard for African teams, but AFCON is more difficult and competitive than the prestigious tournament despite its history.
Ayew made the statement on Tuesday night at the Black Stars farewell dinner in Kumasi, in the presence of President Nana Akuffo Addo and Minister Mustapha Ussif.
There were additional guest invited artistes and media personalities, including as Afua Asantewaa and Stonebwoy, who represented the occasion that night by sharing lovely moments with the black stars ahead of AFCON 2024.
Speaking at the Farewell dinner with Black Stars, Andre Ayew said; “This tournament is even harder than the World Cup,”.
“We know that it is the hardest tournament, for me, in the world when it comes to fighting, determination, and energy so the only way we can do this is by being together and being united, and for that Your Excellency, I can assure you that we are united and we want to do it,” he added.
