Fredrick Boakye, a Ghanaian professional dancer, has ended his Guinness World Record for the longest individual dance marathon.
Despite quitting before reaching his target time of 168 in 8 days, Boakye set a new record for his dance-a-thon on Friday, July 18, with 131 hours.
Boakye’s attempt which was held at Kwahu-Obomeng Social Centre came to an end after 5 days and 131 hours, falling 37 hours of his ambitious target
He surpassed the previous record of 127 hours held by Srushti Sudhir from India with his attempt that began on July 11, 2024.

This achievement places Boakye in the annals of history as one of the few individuals to have danced for such an extended period.
Throughout his cook-a-thon attempt, Boakye remained on his feet, moving to rhythm and demonstrating unwavering commitment to his craft despite receiving little media attention.
In explaining why he quit his effort, Boakye claims it was due to exhaustion enabling him to continue the marathon.
