Ghanaian gosple artist Broda Sammy has stated that he does not do songs for Charterhouse, the organisation behind the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He made this statement during his appearance on ‘U Cook’ program on United Television, hosted by Empress Gifty, which aired on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
During the show, Broda Sammy who is also known as “Nation’s worshipper” was asked why he has not yet won a VGMA, now known as the TGMA award.
In response, he explained that he does not do songs specifically for Charterhouse, the organizers of the awards.
He also made a claims that no Ghanaian worship gospel artist has ever won the coveted award since its inception.
When questioned about whether his music meets the standards of the TGMA, Broda Sammy stated that it is ultimately up to Charterhouse to decide whom they choose to award and what qualities they look for in their award recipients.
He claims that he is the most imitated vocalist in the Ghanaian music industry so he is not boarded for not being awarded.
Broda Sammy also expresses optimism about his chances of receiving a nomination and potentially winning an award next year, emphasizing that anything is possible.
