Roman Abramovich has spoken for the first time in three years following the sale of the Chelsea after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
In a recent interview, the former Chelsea owner acknowledges his exit from the football scene despite willing to return to the English team again.
Abramovich announced in March 2022 that he had no choice but to sell the club following accusations of ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, allegations that led to UK government sanctions later that month.
Abramovich, who bought the club in 2003 for a reported £140 million, sold it to the Todd Boehly–Clearlake Capital consortium in May 2022.
