Inaki Williams will be missing for Athletic Club for the first time in 252 La Liga games, as his incredible record comes to an end, sportbible reports.
Williams has been one of Athletic’s instrumental players in recent years, and he has become an integral and essential player for the team during his seven years at the club.
The Ghanaian forward who made his debut at the Qatar World Cup has appeared in every La Liga game for Athletic Bilbao since April 7th, 2016, when they faced Malaga.
Earlier this season, it appeared that his streak would end at 236 games when he was injured in a Monday night game, only to return six days later to play in his 237th consecutive match.
Williams set up two goals for his team in their Copa del Rey quarter-final win over Valencia on Thursday evening.

The 28-year-old was substituted in the second half and was unable to make the squad for the game against Celta Vigo three days later.
Having not even made the bench due to muscle injury and it confirms that his incredible record of appearing in every league game for the past seven calendar years will come to an end.
Instead, striker Gorka Guruzeta will make only his fifth La Liga start of the season, with Inaki’s younger brother Nico starting wide.
