Bole Senior High School (SHS) teacher Sir Arafat has publicly apologized following the circulation of a viral video involving him and a former female student, appealing to Ghanaians and the Ghana Education Service (GES) for forgiveness.
In a newly surfaced video circulating on social media, the chemistry teacher is seen seated while expressing remorse over the incident, admitting that his actions fell short of the professional standards expected of an educator.
Responding to questions about the controversy, Sir Arafat offered an unqualified apology to the public and acknowledged the seriousness of the matter.

He stated that he deeply regrets the incident and pleaded for leniency from education authorities.
While recounting his version of events, the teacher claimed the intimate relationship was not premeditated.
He also maintained that the young woman had already completed her final examinations and was no longer an active student at the school when the incident occurred.
Despite admitting wrongdoing, Sir Arafat appealed to the Ghana Education Service not to dismiss him from the teaching profession entirely.
Instead, he requested a transfer from an urban school to a rural posting, saying he hopes to continue serving as a teacher while learning from his mistake.
“What happened between me and with the girl was not intentional. I sincerely apologize to everyone. I am pleading with the school authorities and GES not to dismiss me completely. If possible, they should transfer me from an urban school to a rural area so I can continue teaching,” he said.
His appeal comes just days after reports indicated that the Ghana Education Service had directed the management of Bole Senior High School to begin processes leading to his dismissal following the widely publicized incident.
