Jerry Springer was a British-born American television host, actor and politician is best known for The Jerry Springer Show, a talk show with controversial topics and outrageous guests behaviours. He died of cancer on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 79, at his home in Chicago, after being diagnosed with the disease a few months ago.
Jerry Springer’s show came to an end in July 2018 after a staggering 27 seasons and nearly 5,000 episodes. Now only previously taped episode of the Jerry Springer Show continue to air – and Jerry had planned on retiring from the entertainment business.
Springer’s family migrated to the United States when he was five years old, settling in New York City. He had a political science degree from Tulane University in 1965 and a law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago three years later. Following graduation, he worked on Robert F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign.
After being forced to resign from the council after a prostitution incident, Jerry Springer began on his political ambition in 1978 to become the 56th Mayor of Cincinnati, but he reclaimed his seat at the next election and won it in 1978.

He ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic candidature for governor of Ohio in 1982. He then went into television journalism. Springer, on the other hand, remained involved in politics, frequently appearing on television programmes to promote his liberal viewpoint. He pondered running for the United States Senate again in 2004.
