John was born on the 4th of August in 1978. He came from Ejisu Odaho from a farming community in the Ejisu municipality of Ashanti Region of Ghana.
John Kumah did his secondary education in Opoku Ware School, Kumasi. He followed that up by joining University of Ghana (Legon) in 1997 and was granted a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Philosophy.
In the year 2009, he obtained his MBA (Finance) from GIMPA. He had LLB from the University of Ghana and then the BL from the Ghana School of Law.
His Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Business Research was from the Nobel International Business School in 2019.
John Ampontuah has added a Doctorate in Business Innovation from the Swiss Business School to his credentials in November 2020.
He additionally obtained a Masters in Applied Research (Business Innovation) at the same the university.
