José Luis Mato Sanmartín, commonly known as Joselu, is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for La Liga club, Real Madrid. He was born on March, 27, 1999 in Stuttgart, West Germany but his family returned to Galicia, Spain where he attended school.
Joselu began his football career with Celta de Vigo, where he made his first professional appearances in the second division during the 2008-2009 season. He quciking became a key player for those B-Team, showcasing his goal-scouring prowess with 40 goals in 72 appearances.
Real Madrid recognized his potential and acquired him the summer of 2009. He spent a season back on loan at Celta de video before joining Bundesliga side 1899 Hoffenheim in August 2012. After a successful loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, Joselu moved to Hannover 96 and later joined Premier League club Stoke City for £5.75 million.
