Born on January 7th, 1993 in Ghana, Malik Basintale started his political journey at a young child. He developed more passion for politcs when he completed Junior High School at in 2011.

Grewing up in Tamale in the Savvanah Region, Basintale attended his primary education at Tamale International School.

With 270 votes or 36.4% of the total valid votes cast, he defeated Issah Salifu, a close competitor, who received 252 votes, or 25% of the total.

During the 2024 General elections, Basintale played a pivotal role for NDC’s victory. He visited various tertiary schools and even gathered his crew riding a motorcycle to ensure free and fair election.

After so many hours of waiting for the results to be declared, Malik became enraged by the EC’s decision, which he saw as granting the NDC party victory despite the need for further collation from numerous seats.

On Thursday January 23, Basintale was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) by President Mahama following the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong.
