Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has divorced his wife Cristina Serra, according to reports in Spain.
The news of Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra’s split was first broke after Spanish journalist Lorena Vazquez reported it on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, stating that the pair is cordial and still co-parenting their children.
Lorena Vazquez, who works at the Barcelona-based newspaper, Sport, claimed the couple agreed to end their relationship in December while both in Spain.
Pep Guardiola, a coach and former Spanish midfielder, married Cristina Serra in 2014 after dating for several years.
Pep and Serra met in 1994 at Serra Claret, Serra’s family clothing business, when Pep was 19 years old while Serra was 18.
Guardiola was modelling for designer Antonio Micro in Serra’s shop before they met, and their love story began there.
The ex-couple are currently co-parenting three children, Maria ,24, (daughter) born in 2001, Marius ,22, (son) 2003, and Valentina ,17, (daughter) in 2008.
According to the report, the two have informed close friends and family of the end of their relationship, despite the fact that they are still friendly.
Cristina Serra, 52, a journalist and fashion stylist, was said to have left Manchester with one of the couple’s children in 2019 to focus on her fashion company in Barcelona.
She then proceeded to split her time between the Spanish city and London, and while they stayed in touch, Guardiola remained in Manchester for the duration.
Despite agreeing to go their separate ways, Pep Guardiola and Cristina are yet to clarify why, prompting admirers to share their thoughts.
